NEW TV SERIES TAKES VIEWERS BEHIND TASMANIA’S VINES Multi-award winning wine writer Tyson Stelzer will be sharing insight into the production of premium Tasmanian wine with a new TV series titled ‘People of the Vines’. The television series is the first of its kind nationally and will feature six vineyards in what Tyson calls “a no holds barred view of life in the vines”. The focus on Tasmania will reveal the demands of producing in one of the smallest winemaking regions in Australia. While often hailed a winemaker’s paradise, challenging regions such as Tamar Valley will demonstrate otherwise. “We follow the entire process, from the first sparkling wine grapes to the flavoursome reds in what is make or break for the year’s income. If it’s a good day, we show that, and if it’s a bad, well, you get that too,” said Stelzer. The show will air from November 1 at 1pm on Saturdays, on TEN. Mash’s headquarters are based off West Swan Road in Henley Brook, with additional outlets in Rockingham and Bunbury. Their beers can be sourced nationally in both kegs and bottles via their website www.mashbrewing.com. Other award winners included Nail Brewing Australia, which took out Cryer Malt Champion Medium Brewery, and 4 Pines Brewing Company and Two Birds Brewing, who both received the Bintani award for Champion Large Brewery. Additionally, industry stalwart Willie Simpson was bestowed with the CBIA Services to Australian Craft Beer Award, recognising his lengthy contribution to the industry both as a brewer, craft beer advocate and as a reviewer.
