Smirnoff Australia released the luxurious Smirnoff Espresso in October; a triple distilled flavoured vodka just in time for the espresso martini trend. Non-alcoholic wheat beer Paulaner Hefe-Weissbier jumped onto the scene in September, with the added bonus of fewer calories. Bulmers launched a new cider, Bulmers Ginger, in October. The refreshing new addition to the Bulmers line up came just in time for the warmer months and is made with real fermented ginger and has a sweet palate with a dry crisp finish. Best’s Wines released the 2011 Great Western Bin 1 Shiraz and the 2012 Great Western Riesling in September. Cascade Brewery geared up for the warmer months with three new releases to suit any thirst. The mysterious Aperitivo Americano Cocchi was released in October, a wine made with an infusion of herbs and spices still true to the original 1891 recipe, the spirit is made with no artificial colours or flavours and has a mix of rare spices and herbs on the palate. Bollinger celebrated the 50th anniversary of its partnership with 007 with the launch of a limited edition Bollinger La Grand Année 2002. Sirromet 820 Above Vineyard Selection Pinot Gris 2011 was released in October, made in the traditional Alsatian style with both wild and cultured yeast and aged for eight months. Diageo Australia released Bulleit Rye in October, a straight small batch American rye whiskey matured in American oak barrels for up to seven years, giving it a light and sweet flavour. Hennessy announced the launch of X.O Mathusalem by Arik Levy, which sees the artists’ work ‘The Rock’ enshroud the carafe.
