Heads up Trade activity drinks yearbook | 139 Sydney businessman and former executive chairman of the Millennium Forum, Paul Nicolaou was appointed as chief executive offi cer of the Australian Hotels Association (NSW) in early December. Katnook Estate Coonawarra announced the appointment of Trent Nankivell as its new winemaker, and James Sullivan as assistant vineyard manager. Both have extensive industry experience, with Trent commencing his winemaking career at Heathfi eld Ridge near Wrattonbully in 2000, and James joining the producer in time for his seventeenth vintage. Taylors Wines welcomed its new senior winemaker Ryan Waples to the Clare Valley-based winery following a sixyear stint in New Zealand and previous experience at Yalumba and Delegat’s. Giesen Wines appointed Barry Rodwell to the newly-created role of general manager of sales, Australia. The role covered all aspects of sales functions within Australia, including working closely with the brand’s Australian distributor, Negociants Drinks arrivals It was a clean, crisp summer for Pure Blonde as it unveiled a new logo and bottle label. The new look featured the brand’s signature navy, sky blue, and gold colour palette on a clean white base, while a new white bottle cap replaced the old gold version. The change aimed to reinforce its credentials as a premium lager delivering a pure, crisp taste and containing nothing artifi cial. A larger than life Vespa was built on top of Taylor Square’s Oxford Hotel in Sydney as part of a Peroni Nastro Azzurro billboard.
