Anita Poddar was appointed to the role of public relation manager by Constellation Wines Australia. Anita would now be responsible for communications across 25 Australian and New Zealand wine brands and manage all corporate communications. Peter Sinclair was appointed general manager – marketing and commercial development for the African and Eastern business of Foster’s Group. Peter worked at Carlton and United Breweries for 12 years, initially as brand manager for VB and has progressed his career across almost all brands in the group’s portfolio. His most recent role was as marketing director. Peter commenced in his new role at the start of November. 92 | drinks yearbook To celebrate the Queensland Maroons’ record-breaking fi fth consecutive State-of- Origin series win, XXXX released a limited XXXXX Bitter commemorative can, with the iconic logo altered for the fi rst time in 80 years – with the addition of a fi fth ‘X’. The release was limited to 80,000 cartons and was available in major and independent liquor outlets throughout Queensland. In July, a sparkling version of Brown Brothers’ popular Cienna wine – Cienna Rosso – was launched nationally via independent outlets. This was followed in August by the establishment of a Prosecco range, with the national launch of Prosecco NV. Following its tradition of releasing a limited edition seasonal product for summer and winter, Matilda Bay launched Longshot Coffee Infused Dark Ale, a spiced, full-fl avoured dark ale with notes of coffee and malt. Created in collaboration with gourmet coffee brand Toby’s Estate, the limited edition beer was available in 5000 cases exclusively at Dan Murphy’s. In August, Fine Wine Partners launched their Museum and Rare Portfolio which brought together superb back vintage offerings for on-premise from wineries such as Henschke, Petaluma, St Hallett and others across the portfolio. Coopers released their 2010 Extra Strong Vintage Ale– the 10th vintage in the celebrated series. Lindeman’s Early Harvest the brand’s lighter in alcohol range was extended to meet demand for lighter alternatives. The fi ve new additions featured a Pink Chardonnay 2009, Shiraz 2009, NV Sparkling Rosé and 200ml piccolo bottles of the NV Sparkles and NV Rosé Sparkles.
