Riccadonna Sparkling Wines embarked on a major radio and print media campaign and SKYY Vodka successfully repackaged, reformulated and repositioned its RTD offering with big plans for the brand. Aperol continues to grow exponentially in international markets and driven by its signature drink, the Aperol Spritz, is being rapidly adopted by leading on-premise groups as a summer favourite in Australia. 2010 has been a pivotal year for Gruppo Campari and the new Campari Australia business. We have faced the many challenges of launching a new company with passion and pragmatism and are proud of our achievements to date. We are very thankful to the support we have received from our customers and suppliers. We believe we can be a 48 | drinks yearbook real force in the marketplace and an exciting company to do business with. Our customers and suppliers shared this passion with us in 2010. With bold and ambitious plans for all of our brands in 2011, Campari Australia is looking forward to an exciting year. Expansion After having been a silent partner of MGM Wine Distributors for almost two decades, family owned Brown Brothers Wines acquired full ownership of the WA-based company. “We felt it was important for us to adopt a truly national market strategy,” general manager at Brown Brothers, Roland Wahlquist, said. The strategic move was effective from 1 April. Newly created Campari Australia began trading on 1 April with Enzo Casati as managing director. Constellation confi rmed 40 more job losses in Australia, as it expanded its bottling operation in the UK. According to Constellation sources, the expanded bottling programme was going to improve the service and response times for the UK and European market, avoiding the impact of fl uctuating currencies and reducing Constellation’s environmental footprint.
